This is intentionally written to sound very biblical, as this would've been what the inhabitants of Cistron would know as their history.
I use the name Addonai for the name of the God figure in my stories, because the name Addonai is a unique word in the Hebrew language. The word Adon is master, and the ending ai is only used for names in connection with God. It usually is the ending of superlatives, like greatest, biggest, strongest. So knowing that I have many beings who are "in charge" of Cistron, I figured Addonai *my own spelling*, the "Lordiest Lord" the Most High God would fit the best.
I say that Addonai breathed out the stars. Somewhere in the poetic books of the Bible it calls God the "star breather." Stars are some of the hugest things in the universe, and to think that God just breathed, the easiest thing in the world to do, and he creates the most massive things you could imagine, it really shows the power of God.
The names of the Keepers is no coincidence. The first letters of their names spell out CISTRON. It isn't said explicitly that there were people before the keepers, but you can make your own assumptions as to if there were or not. If you choose to believe there were, you're right. When it says that Addonai formed man, that doesn't mean he formed a man, but the species of men. Other species would later come, but at the time, there was only the species of men living on Cistron. Addonai took seven people from their territories, whether they had made homes near the flames, the plants, the beasts, the land, the winds or the waters, and gave them the ability to control His creation. It's like meeting people where they are. Addonai saw Nephalon could be trusted with the gift of giving life, which he would later use to bring about some new species, but that will be saved for later posts.
